The Benefits of Membership

heritagecapebreton.ca

Each member will be featured on the HCBC website, both on the main members page as well as on the heritage locator map. The website will link directly to members’ own sites for those who have them. A useful feature of the website is the ability to submit updated information, or for new members to join HCBC. You can click the link below to view the information form.

Heritage Locator Map

Heritage Cape Breton Connection produces the Island’s only Heritage Locator Map. This road map directs visitors to Heritage points of interest around the Island and to member sites. HCBC has plans to expand the print run and distribution of a newly revised Locator Map for the upcoming year.

Biannual Meetings

Take the opportunity to share news, projects and updates with the Island Heritage community on a biannual basis. Our membership meets in the spring and summer. Mutual support and networking are the guiding principles of the Connection. Our biannual meetings are a place of sincere appreciation for our achievements and a forum where important policy issues are discussed. Check the website for the date and time of the next gathering.

A unified voice

The Board of Directors of the Heritage Cape Breton Connection offers one voice that speaks for all before government agencies, on behalf of the whole Island Heritage community. We interact with the office of the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage on behalf of the membership. We represent the membership on the Board of Directors and the Education Advisory Committee of the Association of Nova Scotia Museums and the Council of Nova Scotia Archives. We partner with organizations such as Destination Cape Breton to bring about a maximum of experience for locals and visitors.
